Overview

YamuShare is a shared mobility platform designed for Sri Lanka, connecting passengers with verified hosts who have available seats on journeys they are already planning. By enabling people travelling in the same direction to share a ride, the platform aims to make intercity travel more accessible and cost-efficient while making better use of existing vehicle capacity.

Challenge

YamuShare was conceived around a simple mobility challenge:
How can people already travelling in the same direction make better use of available vehicle capacity while giving passengers a more convenient and cost-effective way to travel?

The platform needed:
● A simple way for hosts to publish planned journeys and available seats.
● A reliable experience for passengers to discover, compare, and book suitable trips.
● Trust and safety mechanisms including identity verification, ratings, and transparent trip information.
● A scalable digital platform capable of supporting mobile applications, payments, trip management, and future mobility services.
